Under the leadership of Dr. Ranjan Kr Kakati, Director of Students' Welfare at Gauhati University, a group of enthusiastic students and NSS volunteers embarked on a mission to clean up the Lankeshar Mandir area and the local market. Professor Pratap Jyoti Handique, the Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University, emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in one's surroundings for a healthy lifestyle. His words of encouragement resonated with the university family, motivating them to take responsibility for keeping their respective areas clean.

Dr. Rituparna Bora, NSS Programme Officer at Gauhati University, played a pivotal role in coordinating the event, which saw the participation of over 100 individuals.
