Security Breach in Lok Sabha: Assam MP Dilip Saikia Injured While Apprehending Intruders
MP Saikia's Heroic Act: Sustains Minor Injuries During Chaos
New Delhi, 13 December, 23: In a startling incident at the Lok Sabha on Wednesday afternoon, Assam MP Dilip Saikia sustained minor injuries during a security breach that involved two intruders jumping into the House chamber.

Saikia, who represents Mangaldai, reportedly apprehended one of the intruders amidst the chaos in the House chamber. Sources reveal that one intruder leaped onto the table where Saikia was seated. The MP acted swiftly, grabbing the intruder before he could escape, resulting in minor injuries to Saikia's left hand.

Following the incident, Saikia received prompt medical treatment, and a crepe bandage was applied to his injured hand.

The Lok Sabha was thrown into disarray as the two men breached security, with initial reports suggesting they were carrying gas canisters. Witnesses described the chaotic moment as the intruders appeared seemingly out of nowhere, accompanied by yellow smoke filling the air.

Both intruders, identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan from Mysore, have been detained and are currently held at a police station. Concurrently, two protesters, Neelam (42) and Amol Shinde (25), were also detained outside Parliament while carrying cans emitting yellowish smoke.

The security breach incident, notably, occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, where armed terrorists stormed the Parliament building. The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the breach to ensure the safety and security of the parliamentary premises.
