21 January, 24: In a significant move towards preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Bodo community, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the 63rd Bodo Sahitya Sabha, reaffirming the government's commitment to the language and culture.

CM Sarma outlined a series of initiatives aimed at fostering the growth of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha and uplifting the Bodo community. The announcements include:

1. Upgradation of 50 Bodo Medium High Schools: A pivotal step towards strengthening education in the Bodo language, enhancing accessibility for students, and preserving linguistic identity.

2. Financial Support for Sahitya Sabha's Offices: CM Sarma pledged ₹20 lakh each for the construction of Sahitya Sabha's offices in 10 districts, emphasizing the importance of establishing cultural hubs.

3. Augmentation of Bodo Language Representation: The creation of an additional 7 Bodo language posts in the Assam Vidhan Sabha, reflecting the government's commitment to linguistic diversity.

4. Financial Allocation for Auditorium Construction: An allocation of ₹1 crore to construct an auditorium in Kamrup, providing a dedicated space for cultural events and community gatherings.

5. Holistic Infrastructure Development in Boko: A comprehensive plan for the holistic infrastructure development in Boko, aimed at fostering growth and prosperity in the region.
