Guwahati, 21 January, 24: In anticipation of the historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Bhagwan Ram Lalla at Ayodhya on January 22, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the public in a press conference, unveiling a set of special measures to mark the auspicious occasion.

Government Shutdown and Educational Institutions Closure:
To facilitate public participation in the festivities, Chief Minister Sarma declared that government establishments and offices across Assam will remain closed until 2 PM on the day of the Pran Pratishtha. Additionally, all government educational institutions are granted a day off to allow students and staff to engage in the celebratory atmosphere.

Liquor Ban and Business Shutdown:
In a bid to maintain a day of spiritual reverence, the Chief Minister announced a ban on the sale of liquor and alcohol throughout the day. Business establishments and shops are encouraged to keep their doors closed during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, contributing to a collective observance of the event.

Community Involvement:
HCM Himanta Biswa Sarma urged the residents of Assam to actively participate in the occasion by lighting earthen lamps in the evening at their residences. Emphasizing community spirit, he invited people to gather at nearby Namghars for evening prayers, fostering a sense of unity and devotion.

Culinary Restrictions:
To align with the solemnity of the day, shops selling raw meat and fish are requested to refrain from conducting business until 4 PM. Restaurants are also urged to adhere to culinary restrictions by not serving non-vegetarian dishes until 2 PM, contributing to a day of observance and spiritual reflection.
