Anti-Corruption Efforts Intensify: Field Surveyor Apprehended for Alleged Bribery in Silchar
Silchar, 6 March, 24: In a shocking turn of events on March 5, 2024, authorities in Assam unveiled a case of corruption within the Silchar Development Authority. Abhijit Kar, a Field Surveyor, was apprehended red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from a complainant seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Following a meticulous investigation into allegations of corruption, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department of Assam swiftly moved to arrest Abhijit Kar after gathering substantial evidence against him. During the operation, authorities recovered Rs. 38,500 in cash from Kar's possession, with a further raid on his residence in Silchar yielding a staggering Rs. 1,260,890. In total, Rs. 1,299,390 was seized, excluding the tainted money associated with the bribery scheme.
