Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet Makes Key Decisions on Age Relaxation, Sporting Events, and Police Administration

ARUNACHAL PRADESH: State Cabinet Discusses 33 Agenda Points, Approves Key Decisions
The State Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, convened for its 9th meeting this year, addressing a wide range of important matters. The following significant decisions were taken during the meeting:

1. Relaxation in Age Limit for Police Constable Recruitment:
The Cabinet approved a one-time relaxation of two years beyond the prescribed upper age limit of 22 years for filling up vacant constable positions. This move aims to provide additional opportunities to the youth aspiring to join the state police force.

2. Annual Sporting Events Recognized:
The Cabinet granted approval for the inclusion of the Under-14 Indrajit Namchoom Annual Football League and the Monduro Cycling Event as Annual Calendar Events. This recognition will encourage and nurture the budding sporting talents in the state.

3. Creation of Itanagar Range Police Administration:
To ensure enhanced law and order and the safety of law-abiding citizens in the state capital, the Cabinet sanctioned the establishment of the Itanagar Range Police administration. The administration will be headed by a Deputy Inspector General (DIG), supported by three Superintendent of Police (SP) level officers.

4. Strengthening State Administrative Institute (ATI):
Recognizing the need to develop and fortify the State Administrative Institute (ATI), the Cabinet approved the creation of four Deputy Director (Faculty) positions. These positions will facilitate the training of direct recruit government employees, including gazette officers, at higher levels, such as State Civil Services Officers and senior-level officials.

5. Establishment of New ITIs:
In preparation for the upcoming ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) at Lungla, Pangin, and Kanubari, the Cabinet sanctioned the creation of 80 posts. These institutes will provide skill development training to at least 600 youths from Arunachal Pradesh annually.

6. Legal Remembrancer-cum-Secretary, Justice:
To streamline the handling of legal matters by the state government, the Cabinet approved the creation of the post of Legal Remembrancer-cum-Secretary, Justice. Two additional wings will be established within the existing Law, Legislative, and Justice department, and three new positions will be created to support efficient and prompt legal operations. Furthermore, the Cabinet authorized the denotification of 33 obsolete ordinances/acts, reducing the compliance burden.

7. Amendment of Arunachal Pradesh Prison Manual:
In an effort to expedite the release of convicts following the grant of bail, the Cabinet approved amendments to the Arunachal Pradesh Prison Manual 2017. This amendment aims to eliminate delays in the release process.

8. Relaxation in Hard Belt Posting Criteria:
The Cabinet granted a one-time relaxation of the prescribed two-year hard belt posting criteria for APCS (Senior Grade) and APCS (Entry Grade) officers who were recently promoted.

9. Review of Social Welfare Schemes:
Thirteen social welfare schemes, including PMAY (Urban and Rural), Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, PMGSY, and Kisan Samman Nidhi, among others, were thoroughly reviewed by the Cabinet to ensure their effective implementation and 100% saturation across the state.

10. Amendments in Recruitment Rules:
The Cabinet approved amendments to the recruitment rules for the departments of Art & Culture, Forest, and Home, aiming to streamline the recruitment process.

These decisions reflect the government's commitment to fostering development, promoting sports, ensuring effective governance, and uplifting the welfare of the citizens of the state.
