SEBA Unveils Fee Structure for 2024 Class 10 (HSLC Exam)
SEBA Announces Fee Structure for 2024 HSLC Examination: A Path to Inclusive Education
Guwahati, September 26, 2023: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam, has unveiled the much-anticipated fee structure for candidates gearing up for the forthcoming High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination in 2024. This notification, bearing the number SEBA/EX/HOLD/75/2023-24/2, delivers vital information for students, parents, and educational institutions alike.

A Look at the Fee Breakdown

1. Examination Fee: Rs. 700.00 (Seven hundred rupees only)
2. Practical Examination Fee: Rs. 350.00 (Three hundred fifty rupees only) (If Any)
3. Centre Fee: Rs. 1000.00 (One thousand rupees only, to be borne by the Head of the Institution)
4. Annual Recognition Fee: Rs. 150.00 (One hundred fifty rupees only, applicable where necessary)

In an endeavor to promote accessibility to education, the Government of Assam, in accordance with Notification No. E-238074/471 dated 07/11/2022, has extended fee exemptions to candidates hailing from Government/Provincialized and Recognized venture schools. This exemption applies exclusively to students who registered in Class IX during the years 2021 and 2022.

Crucial Guidelines for Candidates and Institutions

1. Notably, the notification underscores that fee exemptions will not be granted to candidates if their names have been registered in a school different from their current educational institution. This rule stands firm even for students in the low-income category. Any exemptions mistakenly granted to such candidates will lead to the withholding of their examination results, with necessary actions taken against the Head of the Institution.

2. Parents or guardians seeking fee exemptions for their children must submit a formal application to the Head of the Institution.

3. The onus of verifying the authenticity of documents submitted by parents, guardians, or students rests squarely on the shoulders of the Head of the Institution before granting the coveted Examination fee exemption.

4. As an intriguing twist, applicants are required to furnish a photograph showcasing the current status of the tree they planted at the time of their admission to Class IX.

5. An important caveat is that candidates can only complete their examination form fill-up at the institution where they originally registered for Class IX. Transfers of registration to another institution will not be entertained.

6. The Center Fee, amounting to Rs. 350.00 per candidate, will be disbursed by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam, to each examination center in due course. It is incumbent upon the Center-in-charge to promptly provide the requisite bank details of the examination account to facilitate the release of the Center fees.

7. For an exhaustive and detailed understanding of the procedures involved, the official Examination portal at sebaregistration.org is at your disposal.

8. Brace yourselves, as the online Examination portal is set to open its virtual doors from October 9, 2023, extending the opportunity to submit applications until October 31, 2023.

9. Last but not least, a vital reminder that candidates who have abstained from participating in any of the internal examinations of Class X, comprising Unit Tests, Half-Yearly, and Pre-Board Examinations, will, unfortunately, forfeit their eligibility to sit for the HSLC Examination in 2024. For more comprehensive details on this matter, please refer to Notification No. SEBA/EX/HOLD/75/2023-24/1-A, dated September 12, 2023.

With this fee structure announcement, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam, aspires to foster a streamlined and transparent examination process for students embarking on their HSLC journey in 2024. For further clarifications or inquiries, candidates are encouraged to explore the official Examination portal or engage with their respective educational institutions.
