New Delhi, 14 December,2023: In a significant gesture of cultural unity and celebration, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam extended a heartfelt invitation to Hon'ble Rashtrapati Smt Droupadi Murmu to be part of the 50th Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) scheduled to take place from January 12-19, 2024. The Hon'ble President graciously accepted the invitation, marking a momentous occasion for the festival and the people of Assam.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media on X to express his profound gratitude for the opportunity to meet Hon’ble Rashtrapati Smt Droupadi Murmu. He conveyed, "It was an absolute honour to call upon Hon’ble Rashtrapati Smt Droupadi Murmu ji today. Her humility & compassion is an immense source of strength for all of us. I was fortunate to have received her guidance today."

The Chief Minister further emphasized the cultural significance of the Karbi Youth Festival, describing it as a celebration of Assam's ancient indigenous culture. He expressed his anticipation for the festival to be enriched by the august presence of Smt Murmu ji.

Responding to CM Sarma's invitation, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong, Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, also took to social media on X to thank CM Sarma for extending the invitation to Hon'ble President Droupadi Murmu.
