Counting of Votes in Arunachal Pradesh Tomorrow: Assembly Election Results Awaited
Counting Process to Begin at 6 AM; Preparations Complete
Itanagar, 1 June, 2024: Tomorrow marks a significant day for Arunachal Pradesh as the eagerly anticipated counting of votes for the State Legislative Assembly elections, conducted simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls on April 19, is scheduled to take place. With the current legislative assembly's term coming to an end on June 2nd, all eyes are on the outcome of the electoral process.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Arunachal Pradesh has ensured that all necessary preparations for both counting days have been meticulously completed. The counting process for the state's Assembly elections will commence promptly at 6 am, initiating with the tallying of postal ballots and electronically transmitted postal ballot systems, followed by the counting of EVMs starting at 6:30 am.

To facilitate a smooth and efficient counting process, 24 counting centers have been established across the state, with over 2000 officials actively participating in the proceedings, excluding security forces. In adherence to electoral protocols, both counting days have been declared as 'dry days' in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh boasts a total of 60 Assembly seats, out of which the BJP has already secured 10 seats uncontested. For the remaining 50 seats, polling was conducted with 133 candidates vying for victory. Notably, the state witnessed an impressive voter turnout of 83%, reflecting the active participation and engagement of its electorate in the democratic process.

As anticipation builds up ahead of the counting day, Arunachal Pradesh awaits the revelation of its electoral verdict, which will undoubtedly shape the future trajectory of governance and representation in the state.
