Dhubri district’s Raniganj Market in Bilasipara witnessed a shocking firing incident that left three people injured, including the owner of an SBI Customer Service Point (CSP). The attack, carried out by three assailants on a motorcycle, has sparked fear and outrage among the local residents.
The incident unfolded when the attackers opened fire at the SBI CSP. Obaidur Rahman, the CSP owner, sustained critical injuries, while two others, identified as Ratan Rai and Abdul Ghafoor, also suffered gunshot wounds. Rahman and Rai, due to the severity of their injuries, have been referred to the Civil Hospital in Kokrajhar for advanced medical care.
Witnesses reported that the assailants fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene, plunging the market into chaos and panic. Authorities, led by the Dhubri Superintendent of Police (SP), have launched an intensive investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
The incident has raised concerns about the prevailing law and order situation in the Bilasipara region. Residents have expressed deep anxiety over the brazen attack, calling for swift action by law enforcement.
