Chief Minister Conrad Sangma Emphasizes Quality Education in Meghalaya
Meghalaya CM Stresses Priority on Educational Institutions for State Development.


Meghalaya's Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, emphasized the state government's focus on enhancing educational institutions. Speaking on August 21, he highlighted the renovation of Rongrenggre Higher Secondary School as an example of their commitment to providing quality education. This announcement came during the inauguration of the Williamnagar Municipal Office cum Market Complex at Soil Bazar, Williamnagar.

The event was attended by PHE Minister Marcuise Marak and Rongjeng MLA Jim Sangma. The Chief Minister stressed the government's dedication to executing various infrastructure projects within set timelines. He expressed that these projects go beyond physical structures, aiming to empower communities and promote economic growth for a better quality of life.

Sangma underscored the importance of infrastructure and road connectivity in connecting communities, driving economic progress, and improving livelihoods. He envisioned a Meghalaya where citizens have access to modern amenities, quality education, and improved healthcare services.

The inauguration of the Williamnagar Municipal Office cum Market Complex aligns with the broader vision of enhancing the well-being and economic prospects of Meghalaya's people. Sangma also shared updates on ongoing initiatives, including the final stages of construction for Williamnagar College and the Mini Stadium at Williamnagar.

Additionally, Sangma announced plans to renovate Rongrenggre Higher Secondary School, one of the district's oldest higher secondary institutions. This renovation aims to improve educational infrastructure for students. He highlighted other ongoing projects, including the construction of Williamnagar College and the Mini Stadium.

During his visit, Sangma inspected recently constructed approach roads at Rangmal Badim village and Chidekgre. He emphasized that bridging infrastructure and communication gaps is essential for an inclusive Meghalaya. He reiterated the government's commitment to progress reaching all parts of the state, regardless of geographical remoteness.

As part of the Chief Minister’s Digital Learning Aid for Students Scheme, Sangma distributed Digital Learning Aids (M-Tab) to students in Williamnagar. He also handed out Cinnamon Saplings to farmers in the East Garo Hills District as part of the Spice Mission initiative, aimed at empowering local agricultural communities.
