New Delhi, India - October 08, 2023: In a significant move towards promoting social justice and empowerment, the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, under the Government of India, has announced a transformative scholarship initiative. This initiative, known as the "Post-Matric Scholarships Scheme for SC Students for the Year 2023-24," aims to empower and uplift Scheduled Caste students by facilitating their pursuit of higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Parents' or guardians' annual income should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakhs.
- Students should be pursuing courses in recognized colleges or schools.

Expansive Educational Opportunities

Under this scheme, students can avail themselves of scholarships for all recognized courses from class 11 onwards. The application process involves acceptance and verification by the respective State Government or Union Territory, ensuring the inclusion of the most economically disadvantaged households.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship provides several benefits, including covering compulsory non-refundable fees, including tuition fees. Additionally, students receive an academic allowance ranging from Rs 2,500 to Rs 13,500 per annum. Furthermore, specially-abled students (Divyang) receive an extra 10% allowance to support their educational journey.

To apply for this scholarship, students should visit their respective State Scholarship Portals. To successfully apply, students are required to have a valid mobile number, Aadhaar number (UID), an Aadhaar-seeded bank account, an income certificate, and a caste certificate.
