USTM Denies Permission for Rahul Gandhi's Interactive Session, Extends Invitation for Youth Festival
Meghalaya, 23nd January, 2024: The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), has declined permission for hosting an interactive session with Shri Rahul Gandhi tomorrow. Instead, the university has extended an invitation for Rahul Gandhi to participate as a speaker in their upcoming Youth Festival.

In a letter addressed to Shri Bhupen Kr Borah, the Hon'ble President of Assam PCC, Guwahati, USTM expressed regret over the denial of permission for the requested event. The university cited a letter from the Hon'ble DC, Ri-Bhoi, received at the eleventh hour, which explicitly denies permission (Letter enclosed herewith).

Despite the setback, USTM expressed enthusiasm in inviting Shri Rahul Gandhi as a speaker to address the students during their Youth Festival. The letter assures the refund of the advance amount of Rs 1 lakh that was submitted for booking the Central Auditorium.

This development adds a new dimension to the unfolding events, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and alternative arrangements in the dynamic landscape of event planning.

As the Youth Festival approaches, the university anticipates an engaging session with Shri Rahul Gandhi, contributing to the academic and cultural enrichment of the students at USTM.
