Assam BJP Set to Contest 11 Seats, Allies to Field Candidates in 3
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announces BJP's candidate list for Assam.
Guwahati, 29 February, 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam has finalized its roster of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced in Guwahati today that a comprehensive discussion on the selected candidates will be held in New Delhi.

According to Sarma, the BJP is set to contest 11 out of the 14 parliamentary seats in Assam. The remaining three seats will be allocated to the party's allies – the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) will field candidates in Barpeta and Dhubri, while the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) will nominate a candidate in Kokrajhar.

This strategic decision underscores the BJP's collaborative approach with its regional allies, aiming to consolidate support and maximize electoral prospects across Assam. As discussions unfold in New Delhi, the party aims to fine-tune its electoral strategy and present a unified front ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
