Northeast India's Waste Management Triumph: Tinsukia Leads Bio-Mining Revolution

TINSUKIA, 22 MARCH 2024: Tinsukia district, under the stewardship of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has achieved a significant milestone in waste management, marking a groundbreaking moment for the Northeast region. In a tweet lauding the accomplishment, CM Sarma announced that Tinsukia has become the first district in the North East to eliminate legacy waste using bio-mining, aligning closely with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mission LiFE.

Through concerted efforts, Tinsukia has successfully treated a staggering 1.53 lakh metric tonnes of waste, liberating over 30 acres of land previously burdened by legacy waste. This transformative initiative not only signifies a triumph in environmental conservation but also paves the way for sustainable development in the region.

CM Sarma's tweet underscores the government's commitment to addressing environmental challenges and fostering innovative solutions for waste management.
