Vehicle Overturned After Driver Lost Control
According to eyewitnesses, the ill-fated vehicle, bearing registration number ML04D 7756, was travelling from Jirikindeng Kanrong Bey Arong towards Karbi Umbormon when the driver reportedly lost control at Amdoba. The vehicle overturned, leading to a massive accident that resulted in multiple casualties.
Victims Identified, Injured Rushed to Hospital
The impact of the crash was so severe that three passengers — Late Bharat Kumar Bey, Late Kati Killingpi, and Late Kasang Teronpi — died on the spot. Local residents and police personnel immediately rushed to the scene to assist the injured.
All injured individuals were taken to the Umpanai Primary Health Centre for treatment, while those with serious injuries were referred to higher medical facilities for advanced care.
Police Launch Investigation into the Tragedy
Officials from the Ulukunchi Police Outpost have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that overspeeding may have been the primary cause of the mishap. Authorities are also verifying whether the vehicle was overloaded at the time of the incident.
