Song anthology ‘Suriya Mon’ released during the Silver Jubilee celebration of Sonari Jatiya Vidyalaya in Charaideo.


Charaideo, Assam: The song anthology ‘Suriya Mon’ by emerging cultural voice Mitali Gogoi was ceremonially unveiled at the concluding session of the Silver Jubilee celebration of Sonari Jatiya Vidyalaya in Charaideo district. The book has been published by Pride Assam Publications.

The event was graced by several prominent personalities, including Jogananda Bora, Education Secretary of Jatiya Vidyalaya; Sunil Dutta; Rati Prabha Gogoi; Juri Devi Phukan; Bani Changmai; Naren Rajkhowa; Nirmal Saikia; Bimal Phukan of Nazira, along with numerous distinguished guests from the region.

Renowned singer and cultural activist Bani Changmai formally released the book. Speaking on the occasion, Changmai shared his emotional response after reading the compilation, saying:
“I was deeply moved upon reading the songbook ‘Suriya Mon’. The lyrics are exceptional. Mitali’s songs will remain a testament of our times. May she continue to write. I wish her continued success.”

Former President of Lekhika Sangstha, Assam, and former Principal of Sonari College, Rati Prabha Gogoi, praised the work, calling it the result of Mitali’s dedication as a conscientious cultural activist.
“‘Suriya Mon’ is the culmination of her consistent effort. The book covers diverse issues related to Assam’s social fabric—children, women, cultural traditions, scientific progress, and the shared aspirations for a brighter, sustainable future,” she said.

In a statement, Pride Assam Publishing House described ‘Suriya Mon’ as a heartfelt compilation that mirrors the author’s personal journey and emotional landscape.
The publisher noted:
