Ganesh Kumar Rai Named Chief Minister Candidate as CAP Gears Up for 2024 Elections
Sikkim's Political Landscape Shifts: CAP Aims to Challenge SKM Dominance
Sikkim, 26 January, 24: In a landmark announcement during the second Foundation Day celebrations of the Citizen Action Party (CAP), Ganesh Kumar Rai has emerged as the chosen Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections. This revelation marks a pivotal moment for CAP as it positions itself to challenge the reigning Sikkim Krantikari Party (SKM) in the highly anticipated 2024 elections.

CAP, founded by Ganesh Rai in January 2023, vowed to usher in positive change and address the concerns of the people of Sikkim. Rai, during the party's inauguration, did not shy away from criticizing the SKM, accusing them of corruption and asserting that their priorities were skewed towards benefiting their leaders rather than serving the public.

Rai specifically highlighted the alleged failure of the SKM to fulfill its electoral promises, especially regarding the representation of the Limboo-Tamang communities in the State Assembly.

"We are committed to our promises and won't resort to excuses like the current government. The countdown has begun, and CAP will assume governance in 2024," declared Rai, emphasizing the party's determination to bring about transformative change in Sikkim.
