Kuki Organizations Deny Involvement in CRPF Attack, Call for Unity and Caution
Assigning Blame: Kuki Inpi Manipur Points Finger at Valley-Based Insurgent Groups
In the wake of recent allegations linking the Kuki community to an attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, Kuki organizations have come forward to vehemently deny any involvement, urging for a more nuanced understanding of the situation.

The Kuki Inpi Manipur, Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), and the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) have united in rejecting these claims, emphasizing the need for cooperation and urging against hastily assigning blame, which could further inflame tensions in the region.

The Kuki Inpi Manipur attributed the assault on the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) camp in Naranseina, Bishnupur District, to Valley-Based Insurgent Groups (VBIGs), condemning it as deeply disturbing and reprehensible. They stressed the vital role of Central Security Forces in upholding public safety and criticized media outlets for speculative reporting lacking concrete evidence.

Echoing these sentiments, the Committee on Tribal Unity, Sadar Hills Kangpokpi District, expressed regret over the misrepresentation of the incident by national television channels. They underscored the importance of respecting geographical boundaries and avoiding conflict with security forces. Additionally, they criticized the Meitei community for perpetuating falsehoods and biased reporting, urging for accountability in filing baseless FIRs against the Kuki-Zo.

The Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) condemned the assault on Kuki-Zo areas near Khoirentak, refuting media reports implicating Kuki militants and cautioning against relying solely on Manipur Police for information. They highlighted the consistent support of central security forces by the Kuki-Zo tribals and called for balanced reporting to prevent further escalation of tensions.

Offering condolences to the families of the CRPF personnel, the Kuki top bodies emphasized the significance of unity and cooperation for peace and stability in the region. They appealed for adherence to journalistic ethics and verification of sources to combat the spread of misinformation and foster a more comprehensive understanding of the complex situation.

With tensions running high, the call for restraint and unity from Kuki organizations underscores the importance of a measured response and collaborative efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
